Product Designer - Dampers
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- Develop manufacturing details and release engineering packages for customized orders
- Complete detailed engineering drawings for sales and customer review within established lead times
- Design and manage design projects from conception to completion
- Provide exceptional production support throughout the manufacturing process
- Offer professional guidance and proposals regarding design and layouts of products specified for custom customer projects
- Collaborate with operations, shared services, sales, and peer teams in efforts to optimize designs for cost, manufacturing, installation, and project integration
- Regularly utilize knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- University degree or college diploma in Engineering
- Excellent knowledge of Solid Works or other 3D CAD software
- Comprehensive understanding of product design and engineering standards
- Aptitude to work in both imperial and metric units of measurement
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
- Superior initiative, self-motivation, professionalism, and ethics
- Ability to travel internationally
Additional assets for this position include:
- Experience with ERP software, including BOMs, material allocation and product configurations
- Knowledge of North American building and fire codes and standards
- Exposure to sheet metal cutting and forming processes
- Practical knowledge of welding and machining operations
- Previous HVAC industry experience in design, manufacturing, or sales
- Aptitude with personal hand tools and power tools used in commercial construction
