Job Description
The Security Technician is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute their experience and expertise in the area of service and installation of Alarm Intrusion, Access Control and CCTV Systems. The Security Technician is a team player and a vital member of the CFLS Team.
The Security Technician role is a full time - hourly position. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
Task and Responsibilities:

Perform service and installation work on various intrusion, access control and video surveillance systems.

Communicate effectively with the team and clients regarding status and progress of assigned work
-
Door hardware installation and configuring
-
Self motivation and interest in industry knowledge
-
Perform routine inspections of intrusion and fire monitoring systems
-
Work with aerial lifts, ladders and hand tools
-
Safe use of power tools
-
Install cabling and conduit in commercial and industrial buildings
-
Prepare concise and timely work orders while on site
-
Prepare weekly time sheets and submit for payroll
-
Required to be on the On-Call after hours rotation
-
Keep company vehicle organized and properly stocked with supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
-
1-3 years experience as an installation and security service technician an asset
-
Logical thinking and troubleshooting an asset
-
Understanding of data networks and network-based systems an asset
-
Customer service oriented
-
Ability to work independently and as a team player
-
General construction knowledge an asset
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong computer skills an asset
-
Knowledge of the fire alarm and sprinkler industry an asset
-
Must possess a valid driver's license
Physical Requirements:

Standing

Working At Heights (use of ladder, Aerial Work Platform)

Driving
-
Noise, light and elements exposure
-
Sitting
-
Walking
-
Bending / Stooping
-
Lifting (1 to 40 lbs)

Carrying (1 to 40 lbs)
