This position is at the L03 level with an hourly pay range of $30.82 - $39.00

Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) and Laundry, the Lead Hand is responsible for a variety of cleaning duties, and supervising other custodial worker.
Working in collaboration with the Manger, Environmental Services, the cumbent oversees quality control, time management, and adherence to policy and procedures by all staff on shift during their working hours.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of supervisory and management techniques including staff and work scheduling methods and practices, recruitment and perform management;
- Good written and oral communication skills;
- Strong computer and word processing/spreadsheets, PowerPoint skills;
- Effective interpersonal skills;
- Conflict resolution sills;
- Ability to work independently under pressure with constant interruptions;
- Ability to take directions from various sources and meet deadlines;
- Good recordkeeping skills;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize;
- Ability to set priorities and to show good judgement;
- Ability to manage and supervise staff;
- Ability to assess and evaluate resource reequipments;
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity;
- Commitment to lifelong learning.
The successful applicant is required to have at least three (3) month’s experience performing housekeeping duties; valid class 5 driver’s license; Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) (to be obtained within first month of hire).
