Information on the division:

Located in Longueuil, on the South Shore of Montreal, this plant is not only the centre par excellence of the largest players in the aerospace industry for landing gear repair and maintenance, but also the plant that is recognized for the manufacture of the famous legs of the Apollo 11 lunar module.

Main responsibilities

  • Supervise the team responsible for drafting repair instructions for non-conformities (SNAG) in the plating department.
  • Act as an advisor/technical support for the process engineering team and technical departments for all surface treatments.
  • Supervise and participate in the design and deployment of work methods that will improve quality, producibility, and delivery times.
  • Supervise and actively participate in the creation of documentation and ensure its maintenance to meet internal and external audits (NADCAP and Customers) and participate in the conduct of these audits.
  • Supervise and actively participate in improvements to infrastructure (physical and IT), procedures, and tools for all surface treatments in collaboration with employees and other team members
  • Supervise and participate in the evaluation and introduction of new products and technologies in the plant
  • Supervise and participate in the contract launch and technical review process in collaboration with the methods department.
  • Act as a trainer for internal certification(s);
  • Evaluate new factory products by actively participating in product launches with program managers and issuing recommendations.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Collegial Diploma (DEC) in chemistry, metallurgy, materials, mechanics, or industrial engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar position.

  • Practical experience in the aeronautics field and being a member of the OIQ is a major asset;

  • Practical experience in the field of surface treatments (nickel, chrome, hard anodizing, anodizing, electroless nickel, zinc-nickel)

  • Good knowledge of procedures applied in the aeronautics field;

  • Demonstrates great flexibility, open-mindedness, and the ability to adapt to different situations;

  • Ability to motivate and mobilize employees toward a common goal (change management);

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Results-oriented and dedicated to continuous process improvement;
