Hey NQer! We’re excited to see you explore the opportunity to join our Early Learning and Child Care team as an Instructor. We have several term positions for the upcoming semester, and are always looking for casual instructors to support our program in the upcoming academic year. Our Early Learning and Child Care program combines theory and practice to help learners prepare for Early Childhood Education level 2 and level 3 certifications from the Alberta Government.

Our program is growing and we offer classes in person, online real time and asynchronously. Classes are offered in the daytime, the evening and on Saturdays.

This position will require flexible hours - please indicate in your cover letter your availability for the noted days and times. Positions commence Winter Term 2026.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Deliver high quality instruction and significant learning opportunities for students.

  • Prepare learning materials according to college and program guidelines and standards.

  • Support learners from a variety of backgrounds and diverse populations through the program.

  • Engage in reflective, collaborative review of lesson delivery, assignments and activities.

  • Provide formative and summative evaluation and feedback to students in a timely fashion.

  • Prepare and facilitate laboratory activities.

  • Prepare and facilitate outdoor play and learning activities.

  • Work with students to improve learning and practical skills.

  • Deliver courses and maintain student records.

  • Supervise practicums in partnership with the College’s Work Integrated Learning team.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, in combination with relevant experience. A Masters degree in a related field is preferred.
  • If your education was received internationally we recommend you obtain an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations.
  • familiarity with the Alberta Curriculum Framework (FLIGHT)
  • 5+ years' of experience working in Child Care with increasing responsibility.
  • Vulnerable sector check within the last 30 days.

  • Experience with learner management systems (i.e. Moodle, adobe connect, peoplesoft student) and computer programs (i.e. word, outlook, powerpoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

SALARY: This is a Faculty role, and the pay range is quite large, check out the NorQuest College Collective Agreement Appendix A to better understand how pay is determined.

Our services reach from Drayton Valley in the southwest, to Whitecourt in the northwest, and to Wetaskiwin in the southeast, encompassing 26 communities.
