Independent Interior Demolition Subcontractor – Multi‑Residential Renovations

Location: Cornwall, ON (and surrounding area)
Position Type: Independent Contractor / Project‑Based

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interior Demolition Subcontractor to support ongoing multi‑residential apartment renovation projects in the Cornwall area. This role is ideal for a reliable, safety‑focused contractor specializing in efficient, clean, and controlled interior demolition within residential buildings.

All work is assigned using a pre‑approved pricing structureno quoting or estimating required—with consistent bi‑weekly payments.

Scope of Work

The subcontractor will perform interior demolition services for apartment turnovers and renovation projects, including but not limited to:

  • Full and partial interior demolition of apartment units
  • Removal of drywall, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, and non‑load‑bearing walls
  • Kitchen and bathroom strip‑outs
  • Safe removal of materials while protecting structural elements
  • Debris handling, sorting, and proper disposal
  • Site preparation for subsequent trades
  • Coordination with site supervisors and other subcontractors
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas
  • Ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Pricing & Payment Structure (Important)

  • All work is completed using a pre‑approved, fixed price list
  • Scopes are issued with clear line items and standard pricing
  • No job‑by‑job quoting or estimating required
  • All additional or out‑of‑scope work must be pre‑approved
  • Consistent bi‑weekly payments for completed and approved work

Requirements

  • Proven experience in interior demolition, preferably in residential or multi‑unit buildings
  • Strong understanding of safe demolition practices and hazard awareness
  • Ability to complete projects efficiently and within timelines
  • Valid WSIB coverage and general liability insurance
  • Own tools, equipment (demo tools, PPE), and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in both occupied and vacant units with professionalism
  • Knowledge of waste handling and disposal requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in apartment buildings or with property management companies
  • Knowledge of asbestos awareness and safe work practices (certification is an asset)
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced renovation environments
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Availability for ongoing and repeat work
