Job Title: Senior Development Tester (Video Games QA)
Location: Montreal Area (100% Remote work from home)
About the Role
We are looking for a Development Tester with deep experience in video game QA to join our team in Montreal. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and polish of high-quality game titles across multiple platforms. This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced game development environment and has a passion for finding issues before players do.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for video games in development Perform exploratory, regression, and feature testing across different stages of the development cycle Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps in Jira or similar tools Work closely with developers, producers, and designers to verify fixes and improve overall game quality Participate in daily stand-ups, milestone reviews, and playtesting sessions Help mentor junior QA team members and contribute to QA process improvements
Requirements (Must-Have)
5+ years of professional experience in Video Game QA Ability to work on EU time zone to match development teams Strong experience testing games on Console platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) Excellent bug reporting and communication skills in English (French is a plus) Solid understanding of game development workflows and QA methodologies Ability to work in the Montreal area - although position is WFH consoles will need to be allocated
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with Mobile testing (iOS and Android) Experience with PC/Steam testing and platform-specific certification processes Previous experience in AAA or mid-size game studios If you’re a detail-oriented gamer who loves breaking things and has a proven track record in console game QA, we want to hear from you! Possibility of flexible shifts for some projects 3am-11am to work with European clients
