We’re hiring a Project Engineer, High Density and Network Project Engineering to provide technical leadership and oversee the full lifecycle of engineering deliverables from conceptual design through execution and closeout. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects involving the installation and modification of electrical assets within Calgary’s Downtown Secondary Network distribution area. Major Responsibilities:

Work with internal and external customers and technical experts to determine the complete project scope including identifying all required technical deliverables, interdependencies, and any risks that are technical in nature.

Plan and produce detailed designs for new construction, additions, modifications, maintenance and changes to EPC distribution infrastructure.

Identify and establish inspection and test plans when required and ensure inspection points are coordinated during construction.

Act as the main point of contact for contracted engineering resources for specific projects and provide support where required.

Oversee the scope and quality of engineering deliverables provided by external engineering consultants to meet the needs of the project.

Establish schedules for engineering and design activities that meet project milestone dates and objectives, execution strategies, and design scopes of work to support the customer requirements.

Ensure all applicable engineering, industry and ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety are applied in designs.

Coordinate all design reviews between consultants, EPC Engineering, and EPC Field Execution Planning, and ensure final deliverables reflect input from all stakeholders.

Review construction Requests for Information and consult with required parties and provide responses in the form of Field Instructions, or via direct construction support on site.

Ensure project information is stored as per ENMAX document and Record Management processes, and that technical closeout of projects is completed in a timely manner.

Ensure the safety of our staff, contractors, and the public is held as paramount in everything we do.

Monitor compliance with project schedules for engineering deliverables and document changes through project change notifications.

Work with Project Estimator and Project Manager to ensure estimates accurately reflect the project scope and risks.

Demonstrate ownership of project success by proactively identifying and resolving challenges and dependencies on Engineering deliverables.
Education Required:
-
B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering
-
P.Eng status with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA)
Qualifications & Experience:
- 4+ years of experience with directly applicable experience in Engineering or project management.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality technical scopes, design packages, and conceptual project schedules.
- Detailed knowledge of discipline specific engineering practices and requirements.
- Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel required. Maximo experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with PLS-CADD, CYME, and ETAP is considered an asset.
