Cambrian Credit Union is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join our People & Culture Team.

Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, the Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for managing, implementing, and evaluating a wide variety of learning and development programs that support the overall growth and development of Cambrian Credit Union employees. The Learning & Development Specialist

works collaboratively with partners from across the organization, and is a champion for change and continuous improvement.

In the role of Learning & Development Specialist, you will:

  • Coordinate and facilitate learning sessions for all assigned learning & development programs, and other organizational learning initiatives as required; including instructor-led and virtual instructor-led sessions
  • Deliver engaging learning experiences ensuring relevancy, effectiveness, and applicability of materials at all times
  • Act as the point of contact for all assigned self-directed learning & development programs. Onboard employees to assigned programs, monitor progress, and provide support to employees and leaders as required
  • Partner with the Learning Designer as a Subject Matter Expert and provide direction towards learning design activities for the design of new learning programs, or the maintenance, continuous improvement, and modernization of existing learning programs
  • Conduct learning follow-up activities and evaluate the effectiveness of all assigned learning & development programs, ensuring all learning solutions attain desired results and align with Cambrian’s long-term strategic plans
  • Work closely with various Leadership teams to ensure all employees have the skills required to effectively
  • perform their duties, and that the required core competencies are met within the probationary period
  • Conduct on-the-job observations, check-in meetings, or other observational coaching activities with assigned learners and Leaders to monitor and assess learning progress. Provide recommendations, recognition, and constructive feedback as required. Coach and mentor learners by sharing personal experience and knowledge of Retail Banking Operations to elevate individual and team performance, and support employee development plans
  • Maintain employee learning records to ensure transcripts are accurate and up-to-date, and generate various reports as required
  • Assist in the management of the Learning Management System (LMS). Leverage technology based (or hybrid) solutions for learning delivery where appropriate
  • Provide assistance and support to other members of the Human Resources team as necessary
  • Perform all other duties and functions as deemed necessary or required by the Manager, Learning & Development or Vice-President, People & Culture

Your Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent is required. A post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, or Adult Education is an asset

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Retail Banking sales and service role is required

  • Experience in adult learning facilitation considered an asset

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Creative thinker and problem solver, with a member-centered approach and strong drive to continuously improve and add value to the business

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well in a diverse environment with multiple and often changing

    priorities
