About the role

RothLochston is seeking a Scaffolding Superintendent for its Western Canada operations. This is a full-time permanent role on a rotational basis, where flights and accommodations will be provided.

The Scaffolding Superintendent is a professional who oversees the safe and efficient erection, dismantling, and maintenance of scaffolding structures on construction and industrial sites on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality supervision of all trade and field personnel, while administering high construction safety practices within all on-site activities. This position reports to the Area Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote site safety, safe work practices and rectify job site hazards.
  • Ensure all employees/sub-contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Assure project execution is consistent with Company’s safety standards and meets the requirements of the clients and regulatory safety qualifications.
  • Plan scaffolding layouts, estimate material needs, and coordinate logistics for efficient operations.
  • Identify and manage project resources with appropriate skills.
  • Effectively communicate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality work that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Monitor and track project status, track risks, issues, changes, deliverables and percentage completion through to project completion.
  • Determine and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Manage changes in project scope; clearly identify the impacts (budget timelines, estimates), communication and documentation to client and management.

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

  • Construction Management – proficient ability to read and understand structural, civil plans, specifications and tender documents.

  • Several years of progressive leadership experience in scaffolding, construction, or industrial maintenance, with a focus on access and structural systems.

  • Relevant certifications, such as those related to scaffolding safety and competency.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with scaffolding work, including climbing, and working at heights.

  • Written/Oral communication skills; Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
