About the role
Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible to ensure various projects are delivered on time or ahead of the planned schedule in the region.
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 33 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 11 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
- Provide assistance to Project Manager in the coordination, scheduling, reporting and quality control functions
- Monitor project progress in regular basis, ensure projects are delivered on schedules
- Supervise progress of on-site construction, minimize circumstances leading project delay
- Interpret and read technical drawings, drawing records, subsequent revisions
- Maintain all projects related documentation, include but not limited to records of all testing and inspections, licensing, and permit requirements, etc
- Maintain regular communication with relevant T&T internal departments/stores and outside trades/contractors/vendors
- Perform any other duties assigned by the superior(s)
- Bachelor’s degree/College diploma related to Engineering or related disciplines
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experiencing in construction industry
- Good working knowledge in project management, including cost control, scheduling, standards, corporate policies, and procedures
- Ability to operate CAD design software is a MUST
- Able to interpret and read blueprints and other technical documents
- Proficient in Microsoft office programs
- Possess mechanical and electrical knowledge is an asset
- Familiar with local stipulations and legal compliance is an asset
- Have a high level of integrity and work ethics; able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel as required
