As a Compliance & Sustainability Analyst, you will support the implementation of the Environmental and Health compliance framework related to products and packaging within the organization. Led by the Supervisor, Compliance & Sustainability this opportunity will best suit someone who has strong knowledge of legislation and stewardship program rules as well as exceptional research and communication skills.

- Assist in developing programs and controls, inclusive of strategies and process modifications to mitigate waste and fees associated with Packaging and Printed Paper (PPP) programs.
- Coordinate Health Canada reporting and product recalls with cross-functional teams.
- Support the Supervisor with managing the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database and process to ensure availability of up-to-date SDS for Staff and Consumers as items are listed/delisted/etc. Provide assistance to Suppliers during the onboarding/setup process with the third-party SDS management system.
- Report on item packaging by SKU#, inclusive of Coordinating the collection of actual packaging data from various internal and external sources. Support the Supervisor with managing the PPP data. Perform regular audits of packaging data accuracy. Utilize modern practices for data collection (such as using Actual data calculations, Average Bill of Materials calculations, and reducing calculator usage).
- Gather information on environmental costs, financial data and report/remit monthly/quarterly/annual fees to appropriate programs, complete external financial audits to ensure compliance with EPR programs across Canada. Work with the Finance and Pricing teams to ensure that obligated products have any applicable fees applied to them.
- Assisting in the review and completion of invoices and reporting of financial data to regulatory authorities to aid in compliance with different provincial and federal legislation.
- Prepare sustainability-related communications (spreadsheets, presentations, etc.) to promote sustainability initiatives and to support internal decision making. Engage and educate staff by coordinating sustainability-related activities and challenges.
- Review and monitor product and labeling certifications and requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (ex. CCCR, Energy Star, Water Sense, Small Spark-Ignition Emissions).
- Stay updated on laws and regulations that impact product and packaging environmental and health and safety requirements.
We’re looking for:
- Diploma in Business, Environmental Studies, Information Management or Public Policy with 1-2 years of experience.
- Sustainable Waste Management Certificate or Canadian Regulatory Affairs certificate would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret government legislations and stewardship program rules.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Organization skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills including Power Bi, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong research and fact-finding capabilities.
- Knowledge of corporate sustainability concepts/trends and industry standards.
- The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.

The expected starting salary range for this role is**$51,400- $67,400**; the final offer will reflect relevant skills and experience.
