Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant and reporting to the Manager, Patient & Family Support Services the incumbent provides reception and secretarial services to the Hope & Healing Program.

The successful candidate will be required to receive patients and families, coordinate telephone calls, schedule patient appointments (primarily for nutrition services), program registrations, payroll, minute recording, prepare correspondence and purchase orders, distribute resources and promotion materials, filing, supply orders and inventory. The incumbent assists with special projects, and other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

Successful completion of a recognized Administrative Training Program from an accredited educational institution

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a secretarial position

Excellent keyboarding skills 50 WPM Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of Medical terminology and minute taking skills

Accuracy and attention to detail to ensure deadlines and requirements are met Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills Caring and compassionate approach to interacting with patients and families Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a multidisciplinary team with support and clinical staff Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

Preferred

Experience in a healthcare setting

Experience in a unionized setting

Must have a satisfactory employment record

Must be legally able to work in Canada Ability to speak French is considered an asset
