The Role

Working with the Strategic Projects group at the corporate office in Saskatoon, you’ll collaborate closely with Technical Services and our operating sites. As a Mine Engineering student, you’ll contribute to a variety of initiatives related to mining, operations support, and technical assessments. This role offers exposure to real-world challenges and the opportunity to support impactful projects across our organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with shotcrete/backfill design/distribution
  • Assist in mine extension support
  • Work with quality assurance and quality control
  • Participate in ventilation, dewatering and ground control assurance activity – conformance to corporate and site standards
  • Complete technical memo and report writing
  • Engage with corporate technical services personnel, mine engineering and geology teams at mine sites
  • Work with ground control with a large focus on operational support in ground support design, ground support product reviews, mining sequencing
  • Gain exposure to unique Jet Boring Mining System as used at Cigar Lake Mine
  • Work with raisebore and long hole mining methods at McArthur River Mine

Required:

  • You will be entering your third or fourth year as a university student in geological or mine engineering, or other applicable academic fields.

  • Demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety

  • Work a portion of your term doing a fly in/fly out rotational schedule and commute to our northern Saskatchewan sites by aircraft
