We are currently seeking an ambitious and dedicated Operations Manager for our Truro, NS, location. If you thrive on accomplishment and are motivated by organizational success, this is the opportunity for you!
As a key member of our team, our Operations Manager is responsible for driving the overall success of our operations across all production phases and the safe and efficient coordination of Yard/Site Staff and Contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Manager and President, the Operations Manager is dedicated to sound business practices, continuous improvement and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, resulting in improved safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Leadership:
- Direct, oversee, and evaluate the work of employees to achieve maximum efficiency and meet performance targets.
- Provide leadership in safety and environmental stewardship by demonstrating and ensuring adherence to company safety and sustainability processes and procedures.
- Protect the company's reputation by managing issues, and engaging support from senior leadership as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience in a metal recycling facility will be considered an asset.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to analyze, develop, establish, and maintain efficient workflow processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to drive operational excellence and motivate a team.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, working outside in all weather conditions.
- Significant walking and moderate physical activity throughout the day.
