About the role

.Job Summary:
Tool and Die Associate assists all production areas in repairing and rebuilding machine break downs and building new assemblies. Tool and Die Associate maintains a Kanban for forging area, reface tooling and dies for the forging process.

Reports to: Tool & Die Team Leader

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate of a Tool and Die Apprenticeship Program or Certificate of Qualification in Tool and Die
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/computer aided design
  • Proactive in safety issues and able to follow through task to completion safely

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate all equipment in Tool & Die area
  • Computer knowledge
  • Troubleshoot
  • Blueprint reading
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Attend annual health and safety training including (but not limited to) WHMIS, and Lockout Tagout.

  • Flexible & adaptable in a complex & changing work environment, while meeting deadlines
