Our Family Resource Network in Red Deer is seeking a:  Full-Time Permanent Family Facilitator

The FRN (Family Resource Network) is funded through the Childcare and Early Intervention Delivery Branch of The Ministry of Children and Family Services and has been created to provide Alberta families, with children aged 0-18 and youth up to age 24 with evidence based and informed services. The services offered by the FRN will include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building support, and social connections and support.

 Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At minimum a post secondary diploma related to human services from an approved institution
  • Preferred certificate related to facilitation
  • Required 2 years experience facilitating community based programs  
  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
  • Proven record of group facilitation
  • Knowledge of parent/child relationships and family dynamics
  • Can model appropriate parenting skills.
  • Basic First Aid Level C with Adult, Child, and infant CPR &AED
  • Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector
  • Class 5 Driver’s License, Clean Drivers Abstract and reliable vehicle for occasional client transportation required.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Group facilitation of children, youth, and parents within the designated communities (travel required)
  • Providing education to parents in the areas of a child’s physical, emotional, and social developmental milestones
  • Mentorship in the areas of emotional, behavioral & social development for youth
  • Linking families with community services
  • Family support and advocacy
  • Working with families to engage, teach and support them in achieving their full potential with their children (ages 0 – 18 yrs.)

Wage:  $23.46/hr. - $27.42/hr.  per hour. Plus, Travel Reimbursement at $0.57/KM.

Hours of work:40 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, some evenings and weekends to provide services that serve a wide range of populations.
