About the role
Reporting to the manager of Support Services, the Housekeeping/Laundry Aide will perform cleaning operations designed to keep the Home in a clean, neat and tidy condition at all times and in accordance with established preventative maintenance and procedures. The County of Elgin has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Part-Time Housekeeping Laundry Aide at Terrace Lodge!
Terrace Lodge "the heart of caring and sharing" Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Situated in beautiful Elgin County, our home features private and semi-private accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Outdoor areas to relax with family, as well as living and dining areas are available for resident enjoyment.
Responsibilities:
Our Housekeeping/Laundry Aides perform cleaning operations designed to keep the Home in a clean, neat and tidy condition at all times and in accordance with established preventative maintenance and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, dusting, mopping cleaning walls/floors/windows/doors, maintaining carpets, cleaning resident living corridors and washrooms, all while working in a manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the County of Elgin and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
What can you expect as an employee?
- Competitive compensation - $27.11 to $27.56/hr with 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay, paid each pay.
- Offered enrollment in the OMERS pension plan (if enrolled, in lieu of benefits will reduce to 9%).

Qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Experience in institutional housekeeping preferred
- Proof of enrollment into full-time post-secondary school in Fall 2025
Conditions of Employment:
- Successful completion of a police record check with vulnerable sector clearance.
- Satisfactory TB documentation
