Reporting to the Manager, Business Support Services the Functional Analyst acts as a key point of contact and subject matter expert bridging data management, reporting and configuration of systems changes between Shared Services and Enterprise systems and applications.
Shared Services is a close-knit community of smart, approachable people who collaborate, exchange knowledge and identify solutions. Our team of experts problem-solves by collaborating with Centres of Expertise (centres providing strategic expertise and specialized services in specific functional areas), faculty and staff in order to see the whole end-to-end process and find a solution that works for the entire community. We provide advice, guidance and leadership in process, quality and accuracy.
Shared Services is a highly educated, integrated team that provides service excellence in delivering and innovating the diverse catalogue of services we are responsible for. Ultimately, we create a human, positive experience when it comes to problem-solving.

Participate and collaborate with Business and Technical teams in system upgrades, the design and development of new modules and/or processes, and the implementation of new solutions that will enhance business processes and user experience

Conduct System Testing and facilitate User Acceptance Testing(UAT) to ensure successful deployment of changes

Conducts first-stage investigations into issues raised by faculty and staff. Collect Relevant information to identify the source of the issue, formulate a solution and/or document complex issues for follow up with relevant stakeholders

Investigates and analyzes data requests to determine expected outcomes, business/stakeholder requirements, and the best method for generating and accessing the information

Informs the identification of key performance indicators that can support the measurement and monitoring of business performance toward strategic goals.

Prepare and maintain documentation, including business process flows, system specifications, and training materials

Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Finance/Accounting, Computing Science or Management Information Systems

Minimum 2 years as a Functional or Business Analyst experience with ERP Finance Applications

Proficiency in PeopleSoft HCM & Finance modules (Payroll, GL, AP, AR etc.)

The ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with business users/stakeholders, and work harmoniously with others

Strong planning and organizational skills, managing time and resources effectively to achieve results, effectively focusing on workload priorities while working within strict deadlines

Knowledge of SQL, Reporting and Data Analysis tools

Knowledge of the post-secondary environment is an asset.
