The Opportunity The Heist is looking for a Senior Editor to join our post-production team in Toronto. We’re searching for a seasoned, creative, and technically strong editor who brings extensive experience in editing and finishing high-end commercial campaigns. You’ll work closely with our VFX and motion design teams to bring concepts to life, shaping visual stories from initial idea to final delivery.
###What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the editorial process from concept to completion across a variety of commercial and branded content projects
- Cut polished, dynamic edits for broadcast, social campaigns and integrated projects for top-tier clients
- Collaborate closely with VFX artists, motion designers, and creative teams to ensure seamless integration of post elements
- Deliver final picture lock and finishing, including online, colour prep, conform, and versioning
- Provide creative input on pacing, structure, and visual storytelling
- Maintain a high standard of quality, ensuring that all output meets agency and client expectations
- Help guide junior editors and freelancers when needed
- Be available to travel to the US for shoots when required
###What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience editing high-end commercial work in an agency or production studio setting
- Proven experience as both an editor and finisher, including experience with delivery for broadcast and digital
- Strong understanding of VFX and motion pipelines, and comfort working in collaboration with those teams
- Experience working on complex campaigns with multiple deliverables and fast turnarounds
- A portfolio that showcases your ability to cut smart, compelling, and visually impactful work for major brands
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Legally able to travel to the United States when necessary
###Bonus Points!
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, with knowledge of After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Flame as a plus
- Familiarity with finishing workflows including colour grading, online, and mastering
- Understanding of storytelling across platforms – broadcast, social, digital, experiential
- Agency or post house experience with global brand campaigns
