Health Strategist Overview
As a member of our health strategy team, you will play an important role in researching and developing content for a wide range of educational and promotional materials related to prescription pharmaceutical products. Drawing on your scientific expertise—along with your strategic thinking and research abilities—you’ll contribute to becoming a knowledgeable resource across diverse therapeutic areas and share your insights as part of our strategic planning and business development efforts. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the agency, including Client Service, Analytics, Data, Account Management, and Creative teams. You may also support initiatives outside of Canada, helping ensure all materials are scientifically sound and meet relevant regulatory standards. As you gain experience, you will have opportunities to work directly with clients and engage with healthcare providers, serving as a key liaison to help deliver high-quality, impactful work.
Responsibilities
Develop knowledge of assigned products and therapeutic areas to be able to distill complex medical information into key selling messages and communication strategy that will support achievement of brand goals and business objectives. Research, write, self-edit, reference, and update promotional and educational materials, including but not limited to marketing campaigns, campaign execution and measurement, websites, detail aids, emails, leave behinds, , presentations, and other digital and print collateral materials. Submit and reference all content created in client MLR review systems ([Veeva, , etc.]and in external submission systems (PAAB eFiles, ASC) Work with the creative team on to ensure that all content is creatively presented medically and scientifically accurate Partner with team members to liaise with external regulators and internal agency partners to ensure the work meets the needs of the brand and client. Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including assisting with medical literature research, in preparation for defense in regulatory review. Work within a brand team to provide strategic direction and develop innovative solutions to solve brand, market, and regulatory challenges. Undertake special projects as required.
Qualifications
University degree in Health Science, Biology, or a related field—equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience is also welcomed. 1-2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or health & wellness communications industries in Canada. A passion for science and medicine, with an interest in marketing, strategy, and healthcare communications. Ability to conceptualize scientific content into creative, HCP and consumer-friendly campaign Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex information clearly and accurately. A solutions-focused, detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable work style. Ability to manage, prioritize, and contribute to multiple projects in a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment; PAAB/ASC experience is preferred Previous pharmaceutical or agency experience—including co-op or internship placements—is preferred Bilingualism in English and French is an asset, and additional languages are welcomed.
