Your Opportunity at SECURE As our Production Development Manager of Production Chemicals, you will be responsible for the development of new and existing production chemical products, improving operational excellence for SECURE Specialty Chemicals Corp. (SECURE). Working closely with subject matter experts, developing product requirements, and partnering with our technology teams to successfully deliver the products to customers. This role ensures product quality, regulatory compliance, and that the business benefits align with product goals.

This role is based out of Leduc, Alberta. The Team This role operates within a highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment, partnering closely with subject matter experts, quality and compliance teams, supply chain, and technology groups. The Product Development Manager plays a visible leadership role, aligning diverse stakeholders around shared product goals and driving innovation through clear communication and technical expertise.

Work Environment The position is primarily office-based, with periodic travel to production facilities, customer sites, and suppliers to support product development and performance. It is a fast-paced, results-driven environment that balances strategic planning with hands-on technical work and continuous improvement.

A Day in The Life Product Development & Innovation

  • Drive new products and improve existing SECURE production chemicals portfolio development, testing and launch.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to communicate product objectives and requirements.
  • Managing the product backlog and prioritizing development efforts.
  • Complete Product testing for physical properties of Oilfield chemistries

Quality & Compliance

  • Collaborate with quality and compliance groups to support the Quality Management System and Management of Change processes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Oversee raw material quality, blending instructions, and product performance testing.

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Monitor product quality, identify non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Determine the production chemicals business requirements and translate these into functional specifications for technical teams.
  • Engage with supply chain teams to identify new and innovative chemistries for the oilfield
  • Communicate information to sell the product vision at all levels from end-users to senior managers and all other internal stakeholders.

Market & Business Strategy

  • Liaise with customers and use data to validate new ideas ensuring they meet customer needs and are commercially viable.
  • Tracking metrics and KPI’s as they relate to product performance and customer satisfaction.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in the development of oilfield production chemicals and/or technical services supporting production chemistries.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical formulations, production processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Superior project management and organization skills.
  • Technical expertise in specialty chemicals for oilfield applications.
  • Exemplary leadership and communication skills to ensure that all teams involved in the product development process are aligned with goals and objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skilled in multiple project management and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment.
