We are hiring a permanent full time Rural Adult MHSU Clinician. If you are strong in your intake and assessment skills and can provide care for clients with, for example, depression, anxiety, suicidal idealization and substance use, we would love to hear from you!

Who are we looking for? We are looking for a Clinician who is self-directed, independent, and has good understanding of Mental Health complex issues. This is a challenging but rewarding position requiring the Clinician to work with people who have Mental Health and/or Substance Use concerns in the area.

The Interior Health Mental Health & Substance Use Programs’ purpose is to restore, preserve and promote good mental health through sustainable and accountable practices.

What will you work on? The Clinician functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, whose purpose is to ensure that adults and elderly persons with serious mental disorders and/or substance use problems and co-occurring impairment in personal, family, financial, occupational and/or social life, have access to responsive, sensitive and relevant assessment and treatment services. This includes individuals with acute psychosis, depression, anxiety, complicated grief, suicidal ideation, substance use disorders, substance dependence and concurrent disorders.

The primary duties include, at the advanced practice level, intake assessment, crisis intervention, referral, case management, short term individual and group psychotherapy, psychogeriatric support, collaborative community planning, psycho-education with clients and their families, and liaison with appropriate professionals. Duties include urgent response intervention to individuals in acute crisis, consultation with other care providers, and the coordination of services for adults and elderly with mental health and/or substance use problems.

Scheduling Information Shift types are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
