Summary The Paving the Way for Racialized and Immigrant Women project shall aim to advance women’s economic security and prosperity. It will address barriers to immigrant and racialized women in their entry, retention, and success in the workplace. Through this 21-month systemic change project, Achēv will scale the Advancing Equality for Immigrant and Racialized Women and Girls project to advance women’s economic security and prosperity. The project will engage and work with organizations in Ontario to address inequities through the application of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) practices and principles

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
  • Manage correspondence, including emails and phone calls, related to the project.
  • Maintain organized project files and records, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of project-related events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Handle logistics for events, including venue booking, catering arrangements, and material preparation.
  • Support virtual event setup and coordination as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and formatting of project documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Collect and organize data and feedback from project activities for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of project expenses and assist with budget tracking.
  • Serve as a point of contact for project inquiries and communications.
  • Coordinate communication between project team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Assist in the dissemination of project information through newsletters, emails, and other communication channels.
  • Support the project team with any additional administrative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in administration, business, or a related field is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a non-profit or community-based organization.
  • Experience working on projects related to DEIA or with immigrant and racialized communities is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and basic event coordination.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
