We are looking for experienced electricians to support the rebuild and repair of electric-powered mining machines, including drills, shovels, haul trucks, and other mobile units. This is majorly on-site work and minimal in shop work, ideal for those with a strong background in industrial or heavy equipment electrical systems and having mechanical aptitude as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rewire, repair, and test electrical systems on mining equipment during rebuilds.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out component replacements or repairs.
- Install and connect motors, drives, relays, contactors, and control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
- Collaborate with mechanics, welders, and other trades as part of the rebuild process.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all work meets code and OEM specifications.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.
- Rebuild, troubleshoot, and maintain mining equipment (miners), ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Electrician certification (Red Seal or equivalent required).
- Previous experience with mobile or fixed mining equipment is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems and high-voltage electrical components.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Physically fit and comfortable working around large equipment.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites if needed.
- Safety-focused mindset – relevant certifications (e.g., MSHA, WHMIS, fall arrest) are a plus
