The Material Handler will play a role in both the manufacturing and advanced paper system team. This role will report directly to the Supply Chain Lead but this role is also accountable to the operations leadership team and their designates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping and Receiving (50%):

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for entire company

  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping and receiving.

  • Create documentation and ensure shipment meets requirements for cartage.

  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries.

  • Unpacking and verifying orders against POs/orders for quantities, accuracy, damage etc.

Material Handling and Order Picking (30%):

  • Move materials and products to designated locations within the facility.

  • Packing orders, using ERP to complete packing lists, and communicating with third parties for shipping arrangements.

  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of picked orders.

  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Inventory Management (20%):

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas.

  • Assist in implementing inventory control procedures, but not limited to, ensuring locations and quantities reflected in ERP are accurate, organizing locations and placement of inventory.

  • Complete other supply chain functions as required.

Requirements:

  • Use of MS Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is a plus; but not required.

  • Attention to detail and ensuring procedures are followed consistently.

  • Able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs or use other means to assist lifting.

  • Able to operate a sit down counterbalanced forklift is a plus; but not required

  • Effective written and verbal communication.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.

  • Self-starter, able to find issues and constantly improve systems, processes etc.

  • Able to de-escalate tense situations and negotiate to get agreement and buy in from all parties.

  • Logistics experience and familiarity with customs clearance in North America and worldwide.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
