Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you be part of the Strategic Advisory & Process Engineering team in RBC Investor Services (IS). You will operate as a trusted advisor responsible for using business intelligence and analysis to facilitate and deliver strategic business and process insights and solutions to address high impact problems both for IS Client Operations and businesses across Investor Services. You will deliver fact-based advisory by helping our stakeholders understand their greatest strategic and operational challenges, identify root causes, and facilitate the identification of value-added, sustainable solutions that support business success. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with key business partners across Investor Services and RBC, and you will support the evolution of IS by challenging assumptions (status quo), identifying synergies, delivering thought leadership beyond immediate solutions, and proactively seeking ‘client/partner/stakeholder’ feedback to inform continuous improvement. You must demonstrate a strong ability to understand stakeholder needs at both the senior leadership level and team level, synthesize and communicate relevant data and information to drive decision making, and act with urgency and initiative to lead and support the business through critical strategic change and transformation.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate working sessions and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to problem solve and deliver solutions and outcomes across IS that enhance the client and employee experience while enabling IS to meet key business objectives
  • Use data and business intelligence to validate problem statements, drive visibility into processes and articulate current state, target root causes, identify/facilitate/recommend optimal future state solutions, and to articulate and realize tangible business benefit
  • Develop strategies (vision, objectives, metrics) and target operating models (current state analysis, future state ideation, and prioritized roadmap of initiatives), deliver solutions and/or execute against outcomes as required, and identify process optimization solutions leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools
  • Conduct complex internal & external analysis in support of core strategic deliverables, gather key information across multiple stakeholders, and conduct analysis to support building compelling presentations for select engagements
  • Champion operational/process excellence and the Lean mindset, including supporting the execution of the process excellence strategy for IS Client Operations
  • Be a strong change agent, balancing future vision with collaborative style to achieve optimal results based on what is needed in a complex environment

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7+ years of experience leading operational process and strategic/operating model level change initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and process engineering background, with a record of strong facilitation, structured problem-solving, process architecture, and project execution
  • Proven track record of driving successful execution, change and adoption in a complex, multi-stakeholder and manual operating environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong executive presentation and storyboarding skills
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and drive towards a future state blueprint

Nice-to-have

  • Change Management certification and/or experience with change management discipline and best practices
  • Project Management certification
  • Masters of Business Administration

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • Excellent exposure to communicate with various business partners and stakeholders in Investor Services and within other platforms as appropriate
  • Working with an exciting, close-knit, supportive & dynamic group
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other business segments within the bank
  • Excellent career development and progression opportunities
  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits
  • Competitive compensation
