Health, Seniors & Long-Term Care is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Reporting Analyst within the Information Management and Analytics Branch.

Duties:

The Information Management and Analytics branch leads the Provincial Information Management and Analytics (PIMA) Shared Service, and maintains the Provincial Data Repository (PDR) and other Information Management and Analytics databases.

The Reporting Analyst develops and refines the requirements and frameworks for new reports, dashboards and performance indicators in collaboration with subject matter experts, and internal and external stakeholders. This includes the creation, implementation and maintenance of integrated reports and dashboards to support departmental decision making. As part of this work, the incumbent performs data analytics such as descriptive statistics and trend analyses, and develops narrative reports that include statistical analyses and interpretations, along with preparation of advisory and authority-seeking documents to inform, seek approval and support the work undertaken.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably a master's degree, in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Community Health Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Experience developing performance reports, dashboards and/or performance indicators.
  • Experience in gathering requirements from various stakeholders and translating them into work tasks and deliverables.
  • Experience conducting quantitative data analysis with complex database domains.
  • Experience testing, reviewing and documenting the operational steps of report generation.
  • Experience with SQL querying languages and using Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to draw meaningful inferences and insights from complex data.
  • Excellent written communication skills to produce complex written material such as narrative reports for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills to present complex subject matter to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-service skills to facilitate collaboration; and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of health information and its uses for indicator development, planning, and evaluation purposes.
  • Knowledge of health administrative databases and/or business data sets.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, evenings and weekends as required.

  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
