About the role

The Product Manager (B2B), is responsible to drive the product related business decisions and provide strategic directions in all aspect of Samsung MX business products in B2B segment. This includes ownership of driving two or more B2B product categories and acting as a main point of contact within the organization.

Product Management (70%)

  • Product Life Cycle Management
    • Play a key role in maintaining and development of category products for Canadian Markets and position the products and solutions as a core reason to buy Samsung products.
    • Responsible for product lifecycle including product definition, GTM in Canada, customer engagement, pricing, promotion and marketing
    • Create, maintain and update value proposition, positioning and competitive comparison documents.
    • Work with the team to understand the market pain point and need and create strategies to create Samsung eco-system in B2B markets
    • Works cross functionally with HQ teams in Korea and stakeholders in Canada to manage all aspects of product launches including launch timeline management, reporting, SKU setup, and tracking testing schedules, Pricing extension and registration into the system
    • Making presentation materials
    • Maintain sales record, performance reporting weekly and monthly
    • Ensure that backend process flows without any interruption
    • Ensure Disty and reseller partners receive up to date product info, pricing, and order processing changes
  • Strategy
    • Build Mid to Long term strategy plan (ATL, BTL, Display, Channel) for responsible category of products
    • Build Mid to Long term strategy plan for Category and take ownership of executing strategy profitably
    • Help Senior Manager, Product Management B2B to build Mid to long term B2B overarching strategy

Product Management Operations/Sales Innovation (30%)

  • Business planning
    • Target management –MP/CMF
    • Creates and manages quarterly account plan (initiatives, objectives, marketing spend alignment, SCM alignment)
    • Weekly executive reporting
  • Category Promo planning
    • Prepare customer collaboration, market analysis, product research, competitive landscape snapshot, channel inventory analysis
    • Build initial market plan (by model/by account/by vertical) and strategic account plan
    • Work with B2B Sales Teams of Mobile Division (Carrier teams) and Enterprise Business Division (Key account teams, Mobile specialist teams, Disty Channel Sales teams) to drive Category and achieve sales target
    • Analyze P&L and set category budget
    • Plan with Marcomm for mobile B2B specific marketing initiatives
    • Sales presentation and consensus meeting
    • Accountable for promo approvals
    • Communicate promo to Sales admin and B2B Sales Teams
  • Market Intelligence
    • Competitive research (Competitors’ price/promotion activities)
    • Weekly sell-out/sell-thru analysis by carrier: Product/Channel/Region
    • Quarterly in-house share analysis (shipments; feeds into SECA model)
  • Finance Management
    • Revenue forecast – submits CMF details for consolidation by business planning
    • Sales deduction budget management
    • COGS/P&L management (assisted by Finance)
  • HQ interaction
    • Quarterly/Monthly/Weekly/Daily operations as required
  • SCM coordination
    • Manages AP2 forecast
    • Priority/Consensus planning with team members

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Operations and Finance training is an asset

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills – forecasting, operations, market research
  • Advanced knowledge of company systems and processes – especially SCM, marketing, pricing, forecasting
  • Product knowledge – mobility, technology aptitude
  • Mid to advanced level spreadsheet skills
  • Mid to advanced level PowerPoint skills
  • Industry knowledge: Mobility, Information Technology
  • Bilingual in English and Korean is an asset

Experience:

  • 10 years related experience preferred
