About the role
The Merchandise Specialist will work in a cross functional team and must possess strong interpersonal skills. This role will support the Sr Director of Brand and Merchandising on building seasonal products and merchandising strategies for the execution and launch of product lines into different markets and channels of distribution. The candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a good eye for detail, and an understanding of market movements and their effects on the numbers. Creative-thinking, capability of working under pressure, risk taking and decision-making are a must.
Responsibilities:
Product Development & Management
- Serve as the point of contact for product development.
- Maintain product and packaging development logs, seasonal roadmaps, and attend Design & Sourcing meetings.
- Organize and track costing and sampling data.
- Manage product development timelines and key milestones to align with market readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with Design, Sourcing, and Marketing teams.
- Collaborate with Sales and provide Sales Support as needed.
- Partner with Design teams for line reviews.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects to ensure seamless go-to-market execution with samples, sales materials, and catalogs.
Market & Sales Support
- Maintain price lists, merchandising roadmaps, and product master listings.
- Analyze sales data and provide insights.
- Stay informed on market trends and competitive landscape.
- Develop and update seasonal catalogs per brand guidelines.
Operational Execution
- Work with Brand on approvals.
- Manage style setup in Blue Cherry.
- Maintain up to date documentation in brand platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field 5 years as a Merchandise Specialist in a similar industry, underwear/baselayer knowledge is a plus.
- Strong business acumen and process-driven mindset with the ability to navigate both structured and unstructured environments.
- Excellent understanding of product and product development processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for SKU-level data in seasonal line development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel and PowerPoint for presentation building.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in French and English is required. Team player with the ability to build internal relationships and work autonomously.
- Goal-oriented with an entrepreneurial attitude, skilled in product marketing and internal team brainstorming.
