We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support cross-functional teams delivering complex technology initiatives. This role requires a practical understanding of Agile delivery, strong facilitation and coaching capabilities, proven business analysis experience, and sufficient technical knowledge to work credibly with developers, architects, analysts, and other technology professionals.
The successful candidate will help teams improve delivery effectiveness, remove impediments, strengthen collaboration, facilitate Scrum events, and promote continuous improvement. They will also contribute directly to requirements analysis, backlog refinement, stakeholder engagement, process analysis, and the translation of business needs into clear and actionable work.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in Scrum Master and business analysis roles, along with strong familiarity with modern software development, cloud technologies, data, automation, DevOps, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology solutions.
This opportunity is suitable for both full-time employment or contract arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional technology delivery teams. Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, backlog refinement sessions, and other Agile workshops. Ensure Scrum events are structured, focused, productive, and aligned with clear delivery outcomes. Coach teams on Scrum principles, Agile practices, self-management, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support Product Owners with backlog refinement, prioritization, Sprint Goals, Product Goals, and requirements clarification. Identify and remove impediments affecting team delivery and escalate organizational barriers where required. Facilitate the resolution of delivery risks, dependencies, competing priorities, and communication gaps. Promote effective collaboration between business stakeholders, Product Owners, developers, architects, analysts, quality assurance professionals, and project leadership. Facilitate requirements gathering, discovery sessions, stakeholder workshops, and solution discussions. Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, functional, non-functional, and technical requirements. Translate business needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process models, and supporting documentation. Identify unclear requirements, conflicting expectations, scope gaps, process inefficiencies, and areas requiring further analysis. Support current-state and future-state process analysis and document workflows, dependencies, and business outcomes. Help ensure backlog items are sufficiently understood, refined, and ready for implementation. Track and communicate relevant delivery measures, including Sprint Goal achievement, throughput, cycle time, work in progress, risks, dependencies, and impediments. Use delivery metrics to support planning, transparency, team learning, and continuous improvement. Support release planning, delivery coordination, stakeholder reporting, and project governance activities. Help teams identify root causes, implement practical improvements, and assess the effectiveness of resulting changes. Contribute to the improvement of Silver Creek’s Agile delivery practices, tools, templates, and professional standards.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of combined experience supporting technology, digital transformation, software development, data, or enterprise system initiatives. Minimum three years of direct experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or comparable role. Proven experience working in a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or comparable business analysis role. Recognized Scrum certification such as Certified ScrumMaster, Professional Scrum Master, SAFe Scrum Master, or an equivalent credential. Strong practical understanding of Scrum, Agile principles, iterative delivery, empirical process control, and continuous improvement. Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum events, requirements workshops, stakeholder discussions, retrospectives, and decision-making sessions. Experience eliciting, analyzing, documenting, validating, and managing business and system requirements. Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, workflows, business rules, and other analysis artifacts. Experience supporting Product Owners with backlog refinement, prioritization, requirements clarification, and stakeholder alignment. Demonstrated ability to identify and address impediments, dependencies, risks, delivery constraints, and team effectiveness issues. Strong understanding of software development and technology delivery lifecycles. Strong technical knowledge and the ability to work effectively with developers, architects, data professionals, quality assurance teams, and other technical specialists. Familiarity with modern application development, cloud platforms, data and analytics, automation, integration, DevOps, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Understanding of how AI and automation can affect product delivery, business processes, solution design, governance, and organizational change. Proficiency with Agile delivery and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Miro, Microsoft Teams, or comparable platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical, facilitation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills. Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgement, and maintain professionalism in complex client environments. Post-secondary education in business, information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Desirable Attributes
Previous hands-on experience working as a software developer, solution architect, technical architect, data professional, or comparable technical practitioner directly responsible for designing or implementing technology solutions is highly desirable. Business analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or IIBA-AAC. Advanced certification in Scrum, Agile coaching, product ownership, project management, or change management. Experience supporting public sector, regulated, or large enterprise technology initiatives. Experience working in consulting or client-service environments. Experience supporting multiple delivery teams or coordinating work across interconnected products and workstreams. Familiarity with Kanban, Lean, scaled Agile practices, DevOps, continuous delivery, and hybrid delivery environments. Experience supporting application development, cloud, data, analytics, automation, integration, artificial intelligence, or modern workplace initiatives. Experience with organizational change, service design, product management, or project delivery. Ability to understand technical architecture, system dependencies, integration constraints, development workflows, testing requirements, and deployment considerations. Ability to challenge ineffective practices constructively while maintaining strong working relationships.
