Position Highlights As a Commercial Account Representative you will play an integral role in the underwriting and administration of commercial products to our prospective and existing commercial fleet customers. Your strong commercial automobile underwriting knowledge and skills will allow you to handle customer needs and explain complex coverage issues in understandable terms. Your strong knowledge of underwriting concepts, principles and practices for mid to large size fleets will improve the Corporation’s affordability and road safey in the commercial sector. You will have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with commercial brokers, fleet customers and key internal ICBC departments dedicated to servicing our commercial customers. Your focus will be:- Working with commercial brokers and customers to address the insurance needs of fleet customers- Evaluating commercial accounts for profitability; analyzing and underwriting fleets to improve optional pricing adequacy, minimize risk and applying actions to change behaviours- Promoting a positive image of ICBC and its products with the objective of improving broker loyalty and commitment- Acting as technical resource on rates, coverage and policies and responding to escalated issues including providing technical information and recommendations to claims staff- Representing the Commercial Underwriting department on internal committees, participating in discussions to analyze insurance issues, and developing recommendations for changes to policies and procedures. To make an immediate contribution in this challenging role you will bring:- Excellent technical knowledge of commercial automobile underwriting, and applicable acts, regulations, and tariffs- Strong critical thinking skills and analytical abilities to assess risk exposures relevant to the portfolio and resolve escalated problems and issues
- Strong knowledge of the relevant acts, policies and procedures as they pertain to commercial auto insurance products and coverages- Strong communications abilities to communicate complex information effectively through presentations and documentation to a variety of audiences, resolve escalated customer issues- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and work within an ever changing environment. Post-secondary education plus several years of underwriting moderate to complex risk, sales and marketing experience in the automobile insurance or equivalent industry is requested. A completed CIP is typically requested for this role. *Please note this position qualifies for TO days and will be on a hybrid model (3 days WFH and 2 days in-office in North Vancouver). Work arrangements defined:
