Senior Technical Producer – Hybrid Events & Livestreaming
Location: Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, ON) Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience
About Livecast Livecast is one of Canada's leading providers of livestreaming, hybrid event production, and professional audiovisual services. We produce hundreds of events each year for government, municipalities, associations, agencies, and corporate clients across Canada.
From executive town halls and press conferences to national conferences and fully virtual events, our team delivers reliable, broadcast-quality productions with a strong focus on professionalism and exceptional client service.
We're looking for a Senior Technical Producer who can confidently lead productions, solve technical challenges, and help deliver outstanding experiences for our clients.
About the Role This is not a typical AV Technician position. We're looking for someone who can independently lead productions from setup through strike, operate livestreams, manage broadcast workflows, and confidently interact with clients and presenters. Please note: Professional experience using vMix is a mandatory requirement for this role. Candidates without hands-on vMix experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities Lead onsite technical production for live, hybrid, and virtual events. Operate livestreams using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, YouTube, Vimeo, and custom RTMP destinations. Build, configure, and operate complex vMix productions, including multi-camera switching, graphics, remote guests, recording, streaming, NDI, replay, audio routing, and multi-destination streaming. Set up and operate professional camera systems, PTZ cameras, and recording equipment. Configure and operate audio systems, wireless microphones, digital mixers, and media feeds. Set up projectors, LED displays, confidence monitors, presentation systems, and event lighting. Coordinate rehearsals and provide technical support to presenters. Troubleshoot technical issues quickly while remaining calm under pressure. Lead freelance crews and provide onsite technical direction. Assist with equipment preparation, inventory management, maintenance, and warehouse organization. Support video editing and post-production projects when required.
Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional experience in live event production, livestreaming, broadcast, or corporate AV. Strong working knowledge of vMix (required). Experience producing and operating live and hybrid events independently. Strong understanding of livestreaming workflows and broadcast signal flow. Experience with Zoom Webinar, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and other virtual event platforms. Professional experience with digital audio consoles and wireless microphone systems. Experience operating professional video cameras and PTZ camera systems. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and client-facing abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence. Ability to lift and transport production equipment.
Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset: NDI workflows Dante audio networking Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe After Effects Live captioning and interpretation workflows LED wall systems Government or public sector events Networking and internet redundancy for livestreaming

Remains calm under pressure and enjoys solving technical challenges. Communicates professionally with executives, speakers, clients, and event organizers. Leads by example and enjoys mentoring junior technicians. Takes pride in delivering high-quality productions every time.
