Position
Reporting to the Construction Executive Director, the Installation Manager is responsible for the successful execution of the installation phase of the projects entrusted to them; they ensure complete installation oversight. As such, they are accountable for meeting the installation contractual deliverables and achieving objectives in terms of safety, quality, cost, deadlines, and customer satisfaction. For the project installation phase under its responsibility, the Installation Manager is the client’s onsite primary point of contact.
In this role you will
Lead and manage installation projects from start to finish, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met. Review drawings and technical specifications to plan site activities. Develop detailed installation plans, work breakdown structures, and resource allocation strategies. Coordinate activities with engineering, procurement, construction, project management, and commissioning teams. Anticipate risks and implement mitigation measures. Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and resource needs, and resolve problems promptly. Coordinate handover to commissioning and operations teams. Supervise and support installation crews, subcontractors, and site supervisors. Lead daily site meetings, assign tasks, and ensure optimal workforce utilization. Promote a culture of health, safety, accountability, and excellence. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) policies. Conduct safety talks, audits, and risk assessments, along with all related documentation. Ensure all installation activities are performed in accordance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders. Oversee site quality assurance and quality control processes related to equipment installation, alignment, and commissioning. Ensure installations meet design specifications and functional requirements. Maintain installation records, track project progress, and issue quality reports. Keep clear and complete documentation, including installation procedures, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and commissioning progress records.
Requirements
What you bring
College or Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical fields. Trade certification (e.g., millwright, electrician) is a plus. Rigging and lifting certification or experience is a plus. Nuclear site access training / Radiation safety training is a plus Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability Effective communication and team coordination Commitment to safety and quality excellence Flexibility to work in demanding site environments and travel as needed.
