Early Childhood Services (ECS) Manager
**Reports To:**Executive Director
**Schedule:**Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Purpose of Position:
Pacekids Programs is a dynamic, family-centred organization that empowers children with diverse needs and their families through excellence in therapy, education, and play. We offer a collaborative, fast-paced environment where our team is passionate about making a difference every day.
We are hiring an ECS Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our ECS program. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing program delivery, supporting staff, and ensuring high-quality, compliant services for children and families.
The ECS Manager plays a key role in fostering a collaborative and high-performing team while maintaining strong relationships with families, community partners, and internal stakeholders. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage complex operations in a dynamic environment.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily ECS operations, ensuring efficient program delivery and compliance with Alberta Education standards
- Lead, coach, and support direct reports and classroom staff to ensure strong team performance
- Coordinate staffing, classroom coverage, and resource allocation to meet operational needs
- Manage employee performance, including coaching, feedback, and addressing concerns
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and staffing planning with People & Culture
- Facilitate team meetings and ensure clear, consistent communication across the program
- Monitor enrollment, coding, and documentation to meet funding and regulatory requirements
- Respond to family concerns and ensure a high level of service and communication
- Support classroom placements, scheduling, and overall program logistics
- Oversee materials, inventory, and budget-related resources for program delivery
- Coordinate and support staff training and professional development initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with families and community partners
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and program delivery
- Participate and contribute to program planning and decisions
- Ensure health, safety, audit readiness, and overall program quality standards are maintained
Position Requirements:
- Post-secondary education with a focus on human services, early childhood education or disability studies with 8+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge and experience applying the Alberta Education Manual within a PUF program.
- Strong organization and time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with wide range of stakeholders including staff, clients and families.
- Problem solving, flexibility, communications, and interpersonal skills are key components to success in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to set goals and to measure and monitor key performance indicators and team performance.
- Experience with ADP is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
