About the Engagement

Akkodis is partnering with a leading consulting organization to engage a Manager, Model Validation & AI Risk to support organizations in strengthening model risk management, validation, and emerging AI governance capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a quantitative risk professional who combines deep experience in model validation and model risk management with an interest in the evolving landscape of AI and machine learning model assurance.

You will play a key role in independently assessing and challenging quantitative, statistical, and machine learning models used in critical business decision-making environments. Working closely with risk, data, technology, and business stakeholders, you will help evaluate model performance, assumptions, limitations, controls, and governance practices while contributing to the development of modern AI/ML validation frameworks.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience performing independent model validation within financial services, consulting, or other highly regulated environments and is comfortable challenging model methodologies and risk management practices.

Services to be Provided

Perform independent validation of quantitative, statistical, and machine learning models. Assess model design, methodology, assumptions, limitations, and performance. Develop and execute model validation approaches, testing strategies, and documentation. Challenge model development teams and provide independent risk assessments. Evaluate model monitoring, controls, and ongoing performance management processes. Support model governance and model risk management frameworks. Assess AI/ML models for explainability, fairness, bias, robustness, and operational risk considerations. Collaborate with business, risk, technology, data science, and compliance teams. Contribute to the development and enhancement of AI assurance and validation methodologies. Prepare validation reports and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

Expertise Required

Strong experience in Model Validation, Model Risk Management, or Quantitative Risk. Experience independently reviewing and challenging model assumptions and methodologies. Proven experience validating quantitative, statistical, or predictive models. Knowledge of model risk frameworks, governance standards, and regulatory expectations. Exposure to machine learning model validation, AI governance, or Responsible AI initiatives. Understanding of model lifecycle management, monitoring, and performance assessment. Experience within banking, insurance, capital markets, or consulting environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex model risks. Ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working with cross-functional teams including risk, business, data science, and technology. Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate effectively within highly regulated and fast-paced environments.
