Line Cook
The Oakville Club is a Private Members Club that was established in 1907. It is a multi-sport and family-oriented, fitness and social club that provides personal service, facilities and programs to enhance the quality of our members? lives and well-being. Job Responsibilities:
· Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
· Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
· Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
· Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
· Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
· Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
Work Hours, Compensation and Benefits:
· The role will require day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
· The hourly rate is $19-$24 per hour plus gratuity.
· Participation in The Oakville Club Meal Plan.
· Uniform cleaning provided.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Follows directions and instructions and able to work as a team member.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques including chopping, mixing and cooking using various methods such as grilling, frying and sautéing.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating reliability and consistency under pressure.
- Willing to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and kitchen technologies.
- Able to lift 50lbs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedures and familiar with industry best practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
