About The Role

As an IT Business Analyst at Softchoice, you will serve as a trusted partner to our business stakeholders, guiding IT requests from initial engagement through to successful delivery. Your role involves assessing business needs, defining clear requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and providing visibility into project pipelines. Your expertise will help prioritize initiatives, evaluate outcomes, and support continuous improvement efforts. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, solution architects, and delivery teams to drive impactful technology projects that support our clients' success.

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive experience in Business Analysis, IT Analysis, Demand Intake, or related roles Proven ability to manage IT requests or projects from initiation to completion Hands-on experience producing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process flows, user stories, and UAT artifacts Experience working in both project-based and Business-As-Usual (BAU) environments Knowledge of application governance, IT asset inventory, and vendor oversight is a strong asset Experience with enterprise platform implementations such as ERP, CRM, or ITSM systems Relevant certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMP, ITIL Foundation, or Agile certifications (CSM, PMI-ACP) are preferred Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields is preferred

Responsibilities

Engage with business stakeholders to understand opportunities, desired outcomes, and assess requests for value, feasibility, and risk Maintain an up-to-date view of the IT request pipeline and communicate status effectively to stakeholders and leadership Apply prioritization frameworks to support data-driven investment decisions and flag duplicate or conflicting requests Facilitate requirements elicitation through workshops, interviews, and sessions, and document functional and non-functional requirements Produce high-quality BRDs, process flows, user stories, and use cases aligned with Agile or Waterfall methodologies Conduct current-state analysis and gap assessments to define future state solutions Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and SMEs to validate designs and ensure traceability Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test plan development, scripting, and coordination with business SMEs Support training, change management, and post-go-live adoption activities Track delivery progress, identify risks, and keep stakeholders informed of project status Maintain an accurate inventory of enterprise applications and support IT governance and vendor management processes Identify gaps between current capabilities and evolving business demands, supporting strategic investment decisions Act as the primary contact for business stakeholders on active initiatives, facilitating workshops and steering meetings Identify opportunities for process improvement, define measurement frameworks, and develop KPIs for IT service delivery Utilize AI-assisted tools and data visualization platforms to accelerate documentation, analysis, and reporting
