About the role

What You’ll Do: Eaton’s Electrical Sector, Americas Power Controls Systems (PCS) division is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern. This position is scheduled to start in Jan 2026.

The hourly range for this role is $22-$26 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do: The Engineering Intern position with the Eaton’s Power Systems Engineering Group primarily will involve review of project specifications & single line diagrams, correspondence to gather data, perform power system analysis studies, electrical design and some AutoCAD drafting.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide applied engineering in the areas of power system studies, power quality analysis and electrical power system design.
  • Performing short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load flow, power quality and arc flash hazard analysis studies.
  • Review project specifications, single line diagrams and equipment Bill of Materials.
  • Prepare power system study data requests and follow up as required.
  • Assist with electrical substation and protection & control design tasks.
  • Manage paperwork and office procedures.
  • Perform all work at a high level.
  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Perform other duties, as required

Qualifications: Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Degree program.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must reside within 120km of the company facility to be considered
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the use of SKM PTW, ETAP, EDSA, CYME, or EasyPower power system analysis software would be a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand single line diagrams and schematics would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical code requirement and design practices an asset.
