Reporting to the Director, Safety Strategy, Management & Integration, the Manager, Human Performance and Safety Culture will lead the human performance management team within Safety and Quality along side our Employee Wellness Programs within Human Resources, as well as Human Factors activities within our Technology teams. The Manager, Human Performance and Safety Culture will be responsible for the Fatigue Risk Management System, Safety Culture and Team Resource Management within NAV CANADA.
The Manager, Human Performance and Safety Culture partners with senior leadership in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment to continuously improve safety. The role supports the company's commitment to safety, protecting and enhancing the corporate reputation. As an ambassador for NAV CANADA, builds critical relationships and collaborates with stakeholders and industry partnerships, leading a broader awareness of the organization and its mission committed to aviation safety.

In this role you will:
- Develop, integrate, maintain and promote human performance and safety culture programs across the organization, while adhering to regulatory and international standards
- Develop and lead strategies for positioning human performance and safety culture at the heart of our initiatives and lead the development of future programs
- Lead a professional, high-performing team to meet the company's human performance and safety culture programs and activities requirements. Ensure development, training, and cross-functional experience through the continuing development of competencies and business acumen for team members
- Provide oversight to the verification and reporting process of fatigue risk management
- Ensure appropriate recommendations and corrective/preventative action measures are undertaken
- Advise the Director, Safety Strategy, Management and Integration and other members of EMC of events, mitigations and follow-up within the organization related to human performance and the status of integrating safety products and policies into the organization
- Collaborate with all groups in the organization to investigate and mitigate safety risks arising from human performance issues
What you bring:
- Aviation human factors or human performance training or equivalent education and experience in an aviation safety field
- Project management certification or equivalent experience is considered an asset
- Management experience within the aviation industry and safety-related activities
- Knowledge of Canadian aviation legislation and regulations, Canadian and International Air Navigation Systems, and National and International Aviation Standards
- Must have a thorough understanding of the 800 series Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards (CARS)
- Must demonstrate knowledge of human performance, team resource management and the linkages between HR, Operations and Technology interdependencies

- This position is a hybrid position with a minimum – 3 days per week on site.
