We’re looking for a Certified 4th Class Power Engineer to join our Athabasca Oriented Strand Board (OSB) division , located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to manufacture a broad range of innovative forest products for customers around the world.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- 4th Class Power Engineer Certification .
- Extensive operating and maintenance experience.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills .
- Commitment to working safely .
- Strong communication, leadership & interpersonal skills .
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:
- Work with a high-performance team dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fire systems , process safety equipment , and newly built thermal energy system .
- Keep our systems running smoothly by applying your expertise to the planning and execution of maintenance and regulatory efforts in the energy area.
- Show our commitment to excellence by maintaining records associated with compliance with environmental, ABSA and insurance standards .
- Pass on your knowledge by developing training systems and operating procedures and training our team of Power Engineer Operators.
- Use your leadership skills to step in and take charge for the Chief Power Engineer when they are away.

Our Athabasca Division is located two and a half hours northwest of Edmonton, Alberta close to the town of Slave Lake. Slave Lake is home to over 6,000 people, It’s an active community boasting two ball facilities, a multi-recreation centre, aquatic centre, and over 40 acres of parks and open space to explore.
