Our  Certified Power Engineers  are our powerhouses. They are pros at  maintaining the machinery and boilers that keep our mills running . We’re looking for a  Certified 4th Class Power Engineer to join our  Athabasca Oriented Strand Board (OSB) division , located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This  state-of-the-art facility  has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to manufacture a broad range of innovative forest products for customers around the world. 

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: 

  • 4th Class Power Engineer Certification .
  • Extensive operating and maintenance experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills .
  • Commitment to  working safely .
  • Strong communication, leadership & interpersonal skills .
  • Ability to work independently  with little supervision.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Work with a high-performance team dedicated to  ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our   fire systemsprocess safety equipment , and  newly built thermal energy system .
  • Keep our systems running smoothly by applying your expertise to the  planning and execution of maintenance and regulatory efforts  in the energy area.
  • Show our commitment to excellence by maintaining records associated with  compliance with environmental, ABSA and insurance standards .
  • Pass on your knowledge by  developing training systems and operating procedures  and training our team of Power Engineer Operators.
  • Use your leadership skills to  step in and take charge for the Chief Power Engineer when they are away.
