About the role

Position Summary

We are excited to share that we are bringing back our Insulator Workshop for a 2nd year in a row! This workshop is designed to help upskill and prepare apprentice insulators for upcoming projects, and a long career within the trade of insulating. Tacten is offering a 15-day Rope Access and Insulator Workshop in Fort McMurray!

Training Workshop key steps and dates

Pre-employment D&A must be completed prior to the workshop, paid for by Tacten.

IRATA Course Start Dates: Aug 8th and Aug 23rd

Insulator Workshop Portion: Aug 17th and Aug 31st Start date at site, aligned to shifts (7/7 or 14/14) Participation in this program is paid during the Insulator training portion, ensuring our team members are supported while building these valuable skills. The IRATA training and certification is provided at no cost to workshop trainees, however time during the IRATA course is unpaid. This hands-on workshop is designed to equip participants with the practical skills and knowledge needed for insulation roles. Key topics, based on Level 1 Insulator technical training, include: Safety overview and Rope Access Insulation Measurements, insulation types and their purposes Piping and Equipment Insulation applications Adhesives, Fasteners, and best practices for tool use The program will contain practical exams for each module to ensure candidates are job-ready upon completion. Requirements

Candidates must be local to the Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo region Minimum 2 years of experience working within an industrial setting (refinery or oil and gas) as an apprentice or labourer Willingness to obtain IRATA (Rope Access) Level 1 Current site safety certifications such as CSTS/CSO, H2S, Confined Space, Elevated Work platform and mask fit is required or must be obtained during the training course duration Exceptional safety and quality awareness Benefits The strength of Tacten lies in its outstanding people.
