About the role
Being a Maintenance Planner / Buyer with us means putting your organizational skills and rigor to work to manage the purchasing and planning of everything related to production equipment maintenance and building infrastructure.
As a Maintenance Planner / Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and executing all purchases and replenishments of goods, technical services, and supplies related to maintenance. You will select and negotiate with suppliers on costs and all terms necessary for these purchases. Additionally, you will plan the tasks of the maintenance department for both production equipment and building facilities.
On a daily basis, you will:
- Requesting quotes from various suppliers and purchasing components according to pre-established budgets and company purchasing policies;
- Following up with suppliers and communicating updates on part shortages to ensure deadlines are met;
- Negotiating annual agreements for all goods and services needed in your area;
- Working with the storekeeper to keep your department’s inventory up to date;
- Collaborating with colleagues to determine necessary stock, critical parts, consumables, etc.;
- Checking supply needs and material requisitions using Interal software;
- Planning work orders for the entire maintenance team;
- Following up on work requests submitted by production supervisors;
- Participating in or managing maintenance and continuous improvement projects with a multidisciplinary team.
You’re the person we’re looking for if you have:

A DEP or DEC in mechanical or electromechanical supply, or equivalent experience;

About 3 to 6 years of relevant experience;

Knowledge of maintenance planning;
-
Experience with CMMS (Interal system) – an asset;
-
Experience with Min/Max inventory management – an asset;
-
Proficiency with MS Office Suite;
-
Knowledge of ISO standards – an asset;
-
Strong communication and negotiation skills;
-
Rigor, organizational skills, and attention to detail;
-
Advanced bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written (to communicate with English-speaking suppliers).
