About the role

Job Description In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health [ISLH], patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at ISLH; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Supervisor or designate, the Laboratory Combined Technologist receives and completes requisitions, forms and reports; monitors patients; performs general imaging procedures, as qualified, including archiving acquired images; carries out routine Laboratory and ECG testing, as qualified; utilizes computerized patient data systems; and prepares and monitors supplies and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience Graduation from a recognized combined Laboratory/ Medical Radiography Technician Program; One (1) year recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

This position requires successful completion of a recognized TML upgrade coursework and practicum.

Transfusion Medicine Bridging Program is also a requirement.
