About the role
The Adams Lake Indian Band is looking for one full time permanent Child & Family Assistant (CFA) to join our team. The Child & Family Assistant (CFA) is a full-time role supporting the Prevention Child & Family Services (CFS) team with administration and project coordination. The CFA will help manage projects, support family programming, and assist with planning community and family events. This position requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a willingness to engage directly with community members in their homes and at events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the Family Home Repairs project and other CFS-led distributions.
- Visit community members to provide application support and information.
- Track data, prepare reports, and support funding/accountability requirements.
- Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of community events and engagements with a timeline, work plan and budget.
- Provide administrative support to the CFS Director & Team Lead (scheduling, correspondence, document prep).
- Maintain confidentiality and support community members in accessing programs and services.
- Supervise aspects of events and manage logistics
- Submit evaluation reports with recommendations
- Meet regularly as required with the Director & Team Lead to provide updates on progress, issues, resources, and budget matters
- Maintain up-to-date communications (i.e.: calendar, posters, emails)
- Create internal and external resource lists
- Respects and maintains individual/family and ALIB confidentiality
- Performs other duties that support Child & Family Services objectives as assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Secwepemc or First Nations ancestry is preferable
- A basic knowledge of social services and community is an asset
- Strong administrative, communications, software & logistics skills
- Knowledge of traditional Secwepemc territory & neighbouring communities is an asset
- Proficient organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills are required
- Strong communication, both oral and written is essential
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to follow directions and maintain deliverables
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit for long periods.
Ability to assist with set up and tear down at engagements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work will typically be performed in the office and community. Regular business hours with occasional evening and weekend shifts may be required.
EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required (Class 4 preferred)
BONA FIDE JOB REQUIREMENTS
Current Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector clearance, with results acceptable to ALIB
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Fulltime Permanent Position
Wage offered will be dependent on education and experience, varying between $30 - $33 per hour.
Hours per week: up to 75 hours biweekly (max 37.5 hrs./week)
