Gerdau is currently seeking aLabourerfor its Selkirk Recycling location.
Responsibilities include:
A variety of physical labour tasks and activites at various work stations throughout the worksite
- Switchman for DE Railcrane
- Shear clean up and shredder beltman
- Rail track repair
- Operate wheel press
- Remove end caps from railcar wheel assemblies
- Brass shack: peddler piece sorting, battery pile and clean wire
The ideal candidate:
- Will be able to work any assigned shift (days, afternoons, nights)
- Start in an entry level position and advance to higher level positions
- Salary: $23.22/hour
Qualifications:

Capable of performing a labour intensive job outside in the elements
-
Ability to work in a team environment
-
Grade 12 diploma or GED is required
-
Experience in operating heavy mobile equipment and machinery would be an asset

Possess excellent communication skills, great work ethic and very good attendance

About Gerdau
With a history spanning 122 years, Gerdau is Brazil's largest steel producer, one of the leading producers of long steel in the Americas and of special steel in the world. In Brazil, Gerdau also produces flat steel and iron ore for its own use. By 2031, Gerdau’s target is to reduce its carbon emissions to 0.83 t/CO₂e per tonne of steel.
Gerdau’s shares are listed on the São Paulo (B3), New York (NYSE) and Madrid (Latibex) stock exchanges.
