Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Your schedule will be divided between YBG and BRS at the discretion of the YBG Base Lead.
- Perform general maintenance of buildings and facilities (repairs, construction, installation, and painting).
- Ensure and maintain the overall cleanliness of the premises in addition to the existing cleaning contract (e.g., hangar, warehouse, company vehicles, etc.).
- Follow cleaning procedures and the use of machines and chemicals to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
- Provide support to the ISC team as needed with loading/unloading and boxing.
- In winter, be responsible for snow removal around the facilities, with priority given to YBG, except for areas assigned to a third party.
- Safely operate various types of mobile equipment such as service vehicles, forklifts, utility tractors, scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, etc.
- Perform daily inspection of ground support equipment (GSE)
- As needed, assist as directed by the line crew chief, e.g., prepare the flight line, Lox, or refuel aircraft
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Experience in a similar position is an asset
- Mechanical skills to maintain, repair and inspect ground support equipment, an asset
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to understand and apply instructions
- Ability to stay organized and efficient in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work with others and independently, with minimal supervision
- Honest and trustworthy
- Demonstrates strong and visible support of our values
- Good communication skills in English, French would be an asset
- Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Excellence, Service, Integrity … Together.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to move around easily
- Be able to lift objects up to 50 Lbs
Working Conditions:
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime
- Will be required to work outdoors
Occupational Health and Safety: Employees are responsible for:
- Working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations
- Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment
- Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisor immediately.
Security Clearance Requirements/ CGP / ITAR: Position requires Level II clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
