About The Role

We're looking for Mathematics Specialists with advanced degrees to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models — crafting rigorous problems, stress-testing AI reasoning, and raising the bar for mathematical intelligence in AI systems used by millions.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for people who live and breathe mathematics. No AI background needed — just deep subject-matter expertise and a commitment to precision.
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and rigorous structure Apply your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related fields to design complex, meaningful problem statements Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning for correctness, clarity, and depth Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance Ensure mathematical rigor and precision across all deliverables Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field Deep expertise in one or more areas: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics Comfortable coding in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or applied projects Exceptionally detail-oriented — you catch errors others miss and hold your work to a high standard Strong written communicator who can explain complex concepts with clarity Fluent in English
Nice to Have
Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows Background in academic research, applied mathematics, or quantitative fields Experience developing curriculum, assessments, or technical content Familiarity with AI tools or mathematical reasoning benchmarks
