As anAdministrative Support Iwithin ourCrimes Against PersonsDepartment, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties for the Crimes Against Persons Bureau.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Provides administrative support, including scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, conference registrations, arranging meetings, preparing presentation material, minute taking and composing correspondence, using word-processing and spreadsheet computer applications software.
  • Processes financial documents related to current and/or capital budgets, express purchase orders, purchase requisitions, cheque requests, and expense claims; reconciles monthly p-card charges against VISA statements; processes course registrations.
  • Types memos, letters and reports, etc. using word-processing and spreadsheet computer applications software. Transcribes officer and witness and interview statements using word-processing computer application software.
  • Maintains an up-to-date and accurate filing system. Ensures appropriate level of office supplies are maintained and arranges for service/maintenance of office equipment.
  • Verifies and submits Civilian and Officer, timesheets and on call sheets.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and processes outgoing mail.
  • Answers telephone and in-person inquiries and distribute messages.
  • Maintains and updates gun locker and SVU evidence locker lists.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional office administration course(s) and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of one-year related experience required
  • MS Word-Intermediate
  • MS Excel-Intermediate
  • MS Outlook
  • Well-developed keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills

Thehourly rate for this temporary, full-time positionis**$27.38**.Please note that this temporary vacancy is to replace a regular, full-time member.
