Job Summary
Drake University is seeking applicants for a cheer coordinator. The successful
candidate will support a positive academic, athletic, and social environment for student-athletes while creating a culture of excellence and ethics.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Ability to build rapport with students, coaches, and staff.
- Skills to help student-athletes improve through training / coaching.
- Ability to complete work within deadlines under little guidance.
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with prospective student athletes, parents, and coaches.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Knowledge and basic proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of applicable NCAA Rules and regulations.
- Experience playing at the collegiate level preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred.
Job Duties
Drake University, a Division I institution competing in the Missouri Valley
Conference, seeks a cheer coordinator.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to
- 60% - Coaching and development of student-athletes - (Essential)
- 20% - Organize and execution of all practice sessions and meetings - (Essential)
- 10% - Develop a yearly fundraising plan to enhance the experience of team members - (Essential)
- 10% - Lead recruitment of student-athletes - (Essential)
- % - Performs other duties as assigned - (Essential)
- % - All of the duties described above require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Pioneer Football League, Metro Conference and Drake University. - (Essential)
